koiraharrastus perheessämme alkoi 1970 luvun alkupuolella.     ensimmäinen rotu oli newfoundlandinkoira ' miro' ristolahden mira' joka oli hyvä seura ja lenkkikaveri.

varsinainen harrastus ja kasvatustyö alkoi rodulla englannincockerspanieli. cockerspanieli on monipuolinen koira, jolla voi harrastaa mm. näyttelyitä ja MONIA eri koemuotoja, joisSA MEKIN olemme edelleen mukana.

1980 luvun puolella seuraksemme tuli ensimmäinen cavalier     king charlesinspanieli, fin mva crawford kiss of love.             cavaliereilläkin teetin muutaman pentueen joiden jälkeläisiä  kävi myös menestyksellisesti näyttelyissä( mm namkliv peggy sue) 

ensimmäinen chihuahua tuli perheeseen 1988, crawford baby       charm. 'lotasta' ei tullut mikään näyttelytähti, mutta osoit- tautui erinomaiseksi periyttäjäksi .

yksi pointterikin 'tara' misty meadow's catch-the-bird on        seuranamme ollut. 'tara' saavutti näyttelymenestystäkin, ja    oli mitä parhain lenkki ja metsäkaveri.

nyt roduksemme on itsensä valloittanut fiksu ja ihanteellinen chihuahua. vähitellen koirien lukumäärä on kasvanut mutta pysynyt kohtuuden rajoissa koirat elävät täysivaltaisina      perheenjäseninä. pentueita syntyy harkiten lähinnä omiin tarpeisiin ja toki, myös lupaavia pentuja näyttelyharrastajil- le, sekä suloisia terveitä pentuja perheille sydämen valloittajiksi !

WE GOT OUR FIRST DOG, NEWFOUDNLAND HOUND, IN THE BEGINNING    OF 1970s. he was called  ' mira of ristolahti ',we called him          'miro '. he was a good compagnion and fun to pley with.

seriously we got hooked with dogs when we got our next        breed, cockerspaniel. they are true multipurpose dogs,                  suitable for shows and various other events. although we       do not any longer owen a cockerspaniel, we continue to be     involved with this attractive breed

in the 1980s we became interested in cavalier king charles          spaniels thorugh newly acquired puppy ( fin ch,                        crawford kiss of love ). we went on to breed a few king             charles spaniel litters. some of our puppies, such as (namkliv     peggy sue ) grew up to be succesful in shows.

in late 1980s 1988 to be exact, our family was extended by the      first of many chihuahuas, crawford baby charm, better          known as 'lotta'. she did not achieve great glory in shows    herself but proved to be a top breeder. lotta gave birth to      some exellent puppies indeed.

yet another breed has contributed to our knowelegde and   experience of dogs namely a pointer (misty meadow's catch-     the-bird). we called her tara; she was quite succesful in             shows and most eager compagnion for long walks in the         woods.

however, over the years the most lovable chihuahuas hawe    taken over our hearts and become our only breed. little by    little the number of chihuahuas in our family has increased   to a comfortable yet easily controllable level.

the dogs live with the family and are treated as family         members. puppies are bred under controlled conditions;            some for ourselves so we can continue the hobby we so much   love, some for other show affecionados and of course some     irrisistably lovely ones to break hearts of new familes.
